My name is Lukasz Buras and I am 39 years old. I was born and raised in Poland, but I came to the United States 20 years ago. The lack of parental role model led me to be more dependent on my friends, who weren’t the best influence. In Poland I didn’t see a bright future, but that changed when I came to Chicago. I was exposed to a different culture and people, who opened my eyes for photography. Through these connections I started off with small events like boxing matches, which started my passion for photography. I desired to expand my field by capturing different projects like Polish proms, charity events, and gatherings. 20-year old me in Poland would have never imagined my future to look as it does now in America. My goal is to continue my education and open a studio of my own.
